Fräulein I was a breeze and a breath of fresh air for me. It was a record I needed to make, and it was expedient and direct in it’s approach. Really simple, in hindsight. It was all there, just had to do the work to commit it to tape. When I announced Fräulein II/III, I had hoped for a similar effort and results. I had all of these ideas I wanted to get out of my system and, at the same time, I thought the “double album” concept was really cool.
But life is what happens when you’re busy making plans. It was a long, tough, cold winter. Life changes, losing a beloved family pet, and changes in my mindset and sense of direction for Fräulein all happened while the record was being made. Some of the songs just weren’t finishing themselves. The ideas didn’t flow as easily. I had moments of struggling with conveying what I had to say. So, I’ve decided to scrap the double album approach, take all of the songs that are ready, and make one single album instead.
With that, Fräulein II is being finished as I write this. The tracking and mixing are slated to be finished by May 1st, and rehearsals for live concerts will follow immediately thereafter with an album release sometime mid-June.
Final tracklisting for Fräulein II:
1. Knockin’ You Out
2. Sun & Sea
5. Stuck in The Mud I
6. Bam Bam
7. Cheap Trick
10. Which side I’m On
